2024-2025 Dependent tax filing and income verification

If this item is listed under your Financing Tasks in My ASU, your financial aid disbursement will be placed on hold until you provide the information requested.

Why this is needed

We need to verify your income information in order to complete your financial aid file. We are required to collect your tax information.

Even if you did not earn income or file taxes, you must complete this eForm with that information.

You can view your document status in My ASU under the Finances tab. Please allow two to three business days after you submit the eForm for our receipt to show in your Financing Tasks.

Determining the required income documents to submit

Click on the option below that describes your 2022 income and tax filing status.

  • Collect a copy of each of your 2022 W-2 forms.
  • A list of sources and the amounts of earnings, other income, and resources that supported you in the 2022 calendar year.

You will need to upload a signed copy of your 2022 federal tax return when completing the eForm. You must include the first two pages, as well as all federal schedules (1, 2, and/or 3) of your 2022 federal tax return. The first two pages must be signed or contain the tax preparer EIN/PTIN.

  • Request a 2022 Foreign Tax Return Transcript from your foreign tax authority (or applicable years to cover income for the entire 2022 calendar year).
  • If you are unable to obtain a free copy of your foreign tax transcript from your foreign tax authority, upload a signed copy of your 2022 foreign tax return (equivalent to the IRS 1040), along with a statement regarding the charge of a fee for the transcripts. See guidance for foreign tax filers below for more information.
  • Make an English translation of the foreign tax document, to include the type of currency used on the document, and sign it.
