2022–2023 Parent Social Security number verification
If this item is listed under your Financing Tasks in My ASU, it is needed to complete your financial aid file, and your financial aid disbursement will be placed on hold.
Why this is needed: The same Social Security number was reported for both of your parents when your FAFSA was completed. ASU's Financial Aid and Scholarship Services will need to verify the correct Social Security numbers for both of your parents in order to continue processing your financial aid file.
Instructions: If your parents do not have a copy of or have lost their Social Security cards, they can request a copy from the Social Security Administration online at ssa.gov or by calling 1-800-772-1213.
This form must be completed by the parent you listed on your FAFSA. You will need to provide the parent guest access to My ASU. Once you provide guest access, your parent will need to complete the Parent Signature Verification checklist to sign and complete forms electronically.
You can view your document status on My ASU's Finances tab. Please allow two to three business days after you submit it for our receipt to show in your Financing Tasks.
