2024-2025 Parent Taxable Grant Scholarship Confirmation
If this item is listed under your Financing Tasks in My ASU, your financial aid disbursement will be placed on hold until you provide the information requested.
Why this is needed
On your 2024-2025 FAFSA application your parent and/or parent’s spouse/partner indicated they had college grants, scholarships, or AmeriCorps Benefits reported as income to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Generally, college grants or scholarships are not taxable. The amount reported on the FAFSA should only include the amount that they paid taxes on. ASU is required to verify the amount that was reported on their 2022 federal tax return, 1040 Schedule 1.
This eForm must be completed by the parent listed on the FAFSA. To allow your parent to complete and sign forms electronically, you need to grant your parent guest access on My ASU. To do this, visit My ASU - Add a Guest. Under Finances, check the box next to View my tasks. Once you provide guest access, your parent will need to complete the Parent Signature Verification task in order to begin to sign and complete forms electronically.
You can view your document status in My ASU under the Finances tab. Please allow two to three business days after you submit the eForm for our receipt to show in your Financing Tasks.
