Military Active Duty and Reservist Commitment Scholarship

Scholarship information

With the Military Active Duty and Reservist Commitment Scholarship, it is Arizona State University’s commitment to honor those service men and women that serve our country by providing increased access to a quality education. ASU recognizes the unique nature of the military lifestyle and is committed to creating programs that meet the needs of military families, which is why ASU’s online campus is now offering this scholarship to all undergraduate students utilizing military Tuition Assistance (TA) to cover the remaining tuition costs per credit hour.

For those undergraduate military students that meet the requirements of the Military Active Duty and Reservist Commitment Scholarship, the funds will be added directly to your My ASU account once the university receives and processes your TA paperwork at the start of each session.

NOTE: This scholarship is not intended to be used in conjunction with the Chapter 33 post-9/11 GI Bill.

Additional criteria:

In addition to undergraduate degree seeking students, undergraduate non degree and visiting students at Arizona State University's online campus, using their Military Tuition Assistance (TA) benefits, are eligible to apply.

Students are required to request the full amount of TA funding for each course, regardless of the amount of TA funding the student may have remaining for the Fiscal Year (FY).
This means that if the student is enrolled in a 3-credit hour course, and they have 1 credit hour of TA funding remaining, they should request the TA at 3 credit hours, if their branch allows. ASU will cover the difference in tuition for that course with partial TA funding.
If the TA is approved at $0 in funding, this is considered a self-funded course and will not be eligible to receive the Military Active Duty and Reservist Commitment Scholarship.
