Military Active Duty and Reservist Commitment Scholarship
Scholarship information
The Military Active Duty and Reservist Commitment Scholarship demonstrates Arizona State University’s commitment to honor those who serve our country by providing increased access to a quality education. ASU recognizes the distinct nature of the military lifestyle and is committed to creating programs that meet the needs of military families. That’s why ASU Online offers this scholarship to all undergraduate students who are using military Tuition Assistance to cover the remaining tuition costs per credit hour.
Undergraduate military students who meet the requirements for this scholarship—including completing the FAFSA and their financial aid file for the academic year— will have the funds added directly to their ASU account once the university receives and processes their TA paperwork at the start of each session.
NOTE: This scholarship is not intended to be used in conjunction with the Chapter 33 Post-9/11 GI Bill®.
Criteria
Minimum GPA: 2.00
FAFSA required: Yes
Must demonstrate need: No
Academic level: Undergraduate
Location: Online
Additional criteria:
This scholarship is available to ASU Online undergraduate degree-seeking, non degree-seeking and visiting students who are eligible to use TA benefits.
Starting fall 2025, students must have a complete financial aid file that has been processed by ASU Financial Aid and Scholarship Services before this scholarship is applied to their ASU account. This generally includes submission of a completed FAFSA and all required documentation.
Students are required to request the full amount of TA funding for each course, regardless of the amount of TA funding the student may have remaining for the fiscal year. For example, if the student is enrolled in a three-credit-hour course, and they have one credit hour of TA funding remaining, they should request the TA for three credit hours if their branch allows. ASU covers the difference in tuition for that course with partial TA funding after federal grants have been applied.
If the TA is approved at $0 in funding, this is considered a self-funded course, and the student is not eligible for this scholarship.
