2026-2027 Parent Asset Verification

If this item is listed under your Financing Tasks in My ASU, your financial aid disbursement will be placed on hold until you provide the information requested.

Why this is needed

There are three scenarios that can cause this information to be required:

  1. Your parent(s) made a change to asset values on the FAFSA.
  2. Your parent(s) informed our office that an asset mistake was made when completing the FAFSA.
  3. Your parent(s) skipped the asset section of the FAFSA, and it was determined that asset information is required to complete the financial aid file.

Additional information

Assets must be reported as of the date the 2026-2027 FAFSA was originally completed and signed. The assets your parent(s) reported on your FAFSA cannot be updated; however, if a mistake was made, they can correct it with supporting documentation.

If reporting child support, the “last completed tax year” will be based on when you completed the 2026-2027 FAFSA. For example, if the FAFSA is completed anytime during the 2026 calendar year, the last completed tax year would be 2025. If the FAFSA is completed anytime during the 2027 calendar year, the last completed tax year would be 2026.
