If you are attending ASU for the 2023-2024 academic year or spring 2024 only (i.e., not attending summer 2024), you must submit 2023-2024 Student Budget Reviews, Student Income Reduction Reviews and Parent Reviews along with all required documentation by this date in order for a reevaluation of the FAFSA and awards to occur.
You must submit your FAFSA and have a complete ASU admissions application on file (application, test scores, transcripts and application fee) in order to be considered for the Obama Scholars Program. This deadline applies to both incoming first year students and current Obama Scholars. For more information about the Obama Scholars Program. Meeting criteria and deadline dates does not guarantee placement in the program as funding is limited and the program will close when available funds have been exhausted.
At 5 p.m. (Arizona time), any loans that are not accepted will not be eligible for disbursement in the spring term. If you are enrolled in the summer term at least half time and have not used all of your annual loan eligibility for the academic year, you may be eligible to receive Federal Direct Loans in the summer term. Remaining loan eligibility for the summer term is determined by your current grade level, dependency status and cost of attendance.
If you are a Federal Pell Grant recipient who has all outstanding financial aid verification documents submitted and are enrolled in summer 2024 session B, you may obtain your textbooks for the semester online or in person at the Sun Devil Campus Stores and have your book charges billed to your student account. If you are eligible, you will be sent an ASU email each semester with instructions.
This policy affects your award amounts if enrolled in Sessions A & C. Your census date may be different if you are in a dynamically dated course (i.e., a course that is not a session A, B or C course). For more information, visit the Dropping classes as a financial aid recipient page.
Financial Aid and Scholarship Services will begin applying your summer 2024 (sessions A and C) financial aid to your spring charges starting May 13. Check your disbursement status in the Financial Aid Tracker and if it reads "Disbursement," you do not need to take any action. If your status shows anything other than "Disbursement," check Priority Tasks to ensure there is no information needed from you.
