First-year New American Scholarship

What is a first-year New American University Scholarship?

The New American University Scholarship is Arizona State University’s merit-based scholarship program for first-year undergraduate students. This scholarship is a form of gift aid that recognizes academic achievement and helps reduce the cost of attending ASU. New American University Scholarships do not need to be repaid.

Students do not need to submit a separate application for a New American University Scholarship. Eligible students are automatically considered after they are admitted to ASU.

Who is eligible for a New American University Scholarship?

New American University Scholarships are available to students who meet both of the following:

First-time, first-year students entering ASU immediately after high school graduation.

Full-time, on-campus students, including those enrolled in iCourses and ASU Sync.

You are not eligible for a New American University Scholarship if you enroll at another college or university after graduating from high school (other than summer courses) before starting at ASU.
