Why this is needed:

Your parent checked Yes to the default loan question on the Federal Direct PLUS Loan application. In order to continue processing your Federal Direct PLUS loan, your parent will need to complete the Parent PLUS default form.

Purpose: This form is used to reduce or cancel an accepted and/or a disbursed Parent PLUS loan. You will need to submit a request that generates a MyASU Task for your parent to submit the Parent PLUS Loan Action Form.

Before disbursement of any private education loan can occur, an applicant self-certification must be completed. Generally, you will complete this form through your lender as part of the application process. You will need to submit a request that generates a MyASU Task for your parent to submit the Parent PLUS Special Circumstance Form and upload the necessary documentation.

Purpose: If your parent needs to update their Parent PLUS Loan borrower demographic information because they misspelled their name, need to correct their Social Security Number (SSN), date of birth (DOB) and/or email address. You will need to submit a request that generates a MyASU Task for your parent to submit the Update Parent Borrower Info Form and upload the necessary documentation.

Why this is needed

Financial Aid and Scholarship Services has determined that you have received more than the total allowable loan limits in Direct Student loans per federal government rules. This means that you are currently ineligible for any type of federal financial aid until you resolve the overage.

To resolve the overage, you must follow the directions sent to their ASU email and submit the Resolve Over Limit Status form.
